“FROM ASHES TO A DIGNIFIED LIFE”- Isaac Lomunyak Kool

“Fortune knocks at every man’s door”. My name is Isaac Lomunyak Kool. I was born on 24th January 1988 in Amboseli Village, a 3rd born of family with 6 boys. I lived with my parents, Mr. Simon Kool and Eunice Kool, in a normal village life attending my primary school in Namelok to Class 3. My routine was going to school from morning to noon, then look after the cows in the afternoon. Life went on well until 1997 July, when my dad passed on. This seemed to be the end of life as I was only 9 years old. My father was the sole provider of the family. From then life became unbearable, as women in our traditional life don’t know how to get even a single meal a day. Life became tough and my performance in school started deteriorating. It became worst that I had to go to school barefooted as we could not afford a single pair of shoes and wore tattered uniform full of patches.

In 1997, I was taken to Kajiado Children’s Home. With the help of a US and UK donor I finished primary school in 2002, when I sat for my national exam and performed well. I was called to join high school in February 2003, and with the help of same well-wishers, I finished my high school in 2006, after which I was called to join Kenya Institute of Management to pursue a Diploma in Business Management. I finished my Diploma in Business Management in mid 2009.

In May 2011, I met Mr. Tony, and told him about myself. He was touched to help me join university. I joined Presbyterian University of East Africa where I pursued my Degree in Business Administration (Finance and Accounting Option). Mr. Tony helped me with schools fees, home rent fees, and upkeep money. Mr. Tony stayed in Kenya for 3 months, and during his stay he did marvelous things that one could think he has been here for a year. We visited Samburu County where he helped many children with food and clothing and even medication. We went with him to the most vulnerable people who were in Baragoi in Samburu and some parts of Turkana where poverty is at its peak.

Now I am done with my first Degree (Bachelor of Business Administration – Finance and Accounting Option). I graduated in November 2013, and hope to get a Masters of Business Administration (Entrepreneurship). I want to teach people how to invest and come up with a solution to the greatest problem of unemployment here in Kenya. I am looking forward to getting a job and help others achieve their dreams.

I call upon all donors never to lose heart as you are really making great impact in our lives. So please go on with the same spirit and God will bless you. Thank you very much and may God bless you. Again, I am reminding those with an extra dollar somewhere to pool funds to help those in need, and nothing will ever go unnoticed.

Thank you all and for the responses and those wishing to know more about me and those willing to employ me. My email address is izohkool88@yahoo.com, Cell Phone No. +254 728 835 553.

Thank you all.
